TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

I originally wanted to go to Popeyes but they were closed/no longer there. I was craving chicken so I went across the street to Dave's. The wait time was a bit long, but good food usually takes time. My drive back home is a 10 min drive. When I ate my chicken sandwich it was warm (only because my drive was 10 mins). I'm sure it was piping hot when I first got it. Dave's did it again y'all.. great customer service, fresh hot food, and a really cool place to visit. The manager JB was talking to me about his porch and actually helped me find a guy to build my she shed I love it here and I love that they do more than just service fresh food which is what I always originally come for but always leave with a full belly and a smile.. this time I gained a porch contact Ty JB..

If I had written this review 3-6 months ago it would have been much better - potentially a 5, but the quality of when they opened vs. now is an obvious decline. The last two times I've ordered in store, and waited for the food to come directly out of the kitchen, the fries were ICE cold and the chicken was warm but clearly not as warm/fresh as many previous experiences. This seems to point to a lazy/untrained kitchen who is making too many fries, then letting them sit, then serving them up. The chicken? no idea what's goin... read more

I didn't like the spice combo. Just not for me. Not bad if it's your cup of tea. The service was fine, and dining area was clean enough.

Beav & his pals rave about this place, so I was up that way & stopped in for a late lunch. PRO- I wasn't that hungry so I just ordered three tenders. $15. Chicken was VERY GOOD. Even Mild was very spicy for me. White meat, juicy & hot. Came with some white bread to tone down the bite. I can't imagine how hot the hot is! CON-Drink machine was broken on a late Saturday afternoon. I ended up afterward driving across the street to McDs to get a Diet Coke, cause their drink machine wasn't broken. Service was BEYOND slow!
