Went back today added some Mac and Cheese it looks nothing like the photo on website and way over priced. The container is tiny and it cost over 5 dollars. Service was great clean gender separated restrooms , always a plus.
So overhyped it's ridiculous. The food is served cold, way overpriced for a chicken tender on a cold Hawaiin roll with 3 shreds of cabbage they claim to be coleslaw. You will leave with bubble guts which just shows that they probably don't change their frying oil for days. At least the service was okay, they were sweet at the counter.
This might be one of the most unhealthy places to eat. The chicken is coded with I don't know why, but it can't be good for you.

The buns are cheap and thin. Chicken is very salty and spicy, hardly any slaw on the slider... not good

Based off my experience, the pictures posted here are misleading to what you are actually served. The chicken is juicy but the cuts are strange and have a lot of cartilage. Speaking of the cuts, a $20 chicken "sandwich" meal will get you half a palm of chicken folded between a single slice of bread, a small amount of limp fries, and fountain drink. They pretty much serve chicken hot dogs.

I didn't order anything but my friend did. She shared some with me and I got thirsty so I asked the workers for water. The employee denied me water because I didn't order anything. What the heck??? Is that YOUR water?? Is that YOUR cup??? Your company is worth 200 million dollars and can't even spare a cup of water???? Why u tripping over a 5 cents water cup??? Ridiculous.

I've had Dave's a few times. My concern this time was lack of consistency in heat. I ordered some stuff for me and the family. My tender was supposed to be Mild, but it's dang spicy this time around and making my fingers red, so heavily seasoned. In the past when I've ordered Mild I've gotten what I expected. Maybe they mixed up my order. The receipt on the box defiantly says Mild. The issue isn't that I'm a wuss, it's that I get heartburn from spicy food (just wait you'll be old too one day), so it's not nothing.

I found the restaurant being maintained and cleaned every couple of minutes and the service was okay. The ambience was lit, but the food was quite horrid. I ordered an extra hot chicken tender/slider combo with a strawberry shake and oreo pieces. I found the chicken to be very spicy (like advertised) but the flavor was quite off-putting and unappetizing (tastes like too much cumin). I found the food to be too salty and the shake too melted. I've been to Dave's Hot Chicken in SoCal a few times and it's always been really good. Decided to try the location in El Cerrito and the food wasn't great. Actually, it gave me and my bf food poisoning. We started feeling queezy and other symptoms (I'll spare you) within 20 minutes of eating our food. I don't know what went wrong in the kitchen but something definitely did. Unfortunately, I don't recommend eating at this location and I won't be coming back.
