Horrible food service! Never get what we ordered, and everytime the coleslaw is absent when it's apart of the chicken sandwich. Why is an ingredient that is described in the menu not there when I paid for it?? It's not like these sandwiches are cheap! Don't care for this location at all. It's the service not the food, for sure!

I love Dave's in southern Cali the ones heren NorCal are terrible . I ordered 4 combo boxes fries were cold and chicken dry and no slaw were added how did you miss a large order ?Such a waste it's always fresh hot in southern Cali . Never again

I experienced enough today to never come back to Dave's hot chicken. The staff here would rather ignore you, laugh and play amongst themselves and give your food to others with a sprinkle of condescending remarks. This felt more like a DMV.

5.19 for a 1/4 cup of salad and no taste. Bad price and taste. I asked for mild not chicken and I got hot could not eat it

$16 for 2 piece tenders and a side of fries. Orders are super slow to come out. Wait it more than half an hour for my small order. other customers are complaining to the employees as well. For $16 I can buy a whole chicken is more expensive than Wingstop.

Doesn't live up to the hype. I remember seeing this SOCal chicken strip spot get a bunch of hype during the pandemic w long lines so was curious when they opened at EC Plaza. I ordered a 2 piece strip meal and added a strip and it was $19!! For three strips, fries and 3 slices of white bread. Ordered it medium but it wasn't spicy. Chicken and fries were soggy. Tasty but soggy. Not worth the price and didn't live up to the hype. Popeyes is just down San Pablo, go there if you're looking for chicken strips!

I love hot chicken, so I was excited to see this addition to the El Cerrito Plaza. The chicken was very tender and moist... and the flavor good though I thought hot and I am a very high heat level, but it was about as hot as I could take while still tasting it. They had two more levels above this... Try at your own peril. But sadly I would never go back...over $16 for two pretty flimsy chicken strips and a reasonable portion of fries... food was disappointing as expected based off the customer service. we came on Drake's birthday and the cashier rudely told part of our group that we weren't selected for the free sliders and took the promo off, when the people before and after us clearly "were selected." would be fine but the portion size was poor as well - would recommend a different chicken place instead.
The food is good. I tried the extra hot and they're not kidding around -- flavor was great but it is very spicy by American restaurant standards. I went on a Monday for lunch and it wasn't crowded at all. I waited maybe 10 mins for my food so I assume everything is cooked fresh to order. With the good out of the way, I'm giving them two stars because this place has a fatal flaw that really bothers me.
