TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

The food is just okay, in my opinion. The chicken had a weird grittiness to it and was overly greasy but tasted alright.
This was our first time at Dave's got Chicken. Wife had nuggets. She got the hot. They were hot but not out of line with other spicy hot foods. They were ok. I got the number 3 combo which is a slider and a chicken strip. I got mild flavor. The taste was good but the coating on the outside of the chicken was weird. The flavor was good. Ugh. I hate to do this but I've got to be honest. Three stars: four stars for food, one star (or less) for service. Feel free to view my other reviews so you can see that I am not just some random angry troll l. I am usually favorable and strive to be fair and honest. First, the good. the food is good but very expensive. It's definitely a once in a while maybe once a year meal. probably would spend my money at a restaurant instead.
Points for doing something unique! More points for the chicken - moist and tender inside, crunchy and hot on the outside. Seasoned fries were delish! The only real downside is that the "slider" was easily the messiest thing I've ever eaten! Next time, I'll just get the tender with a side of slaw. All the same ingredients but I don't have to wrestle it into my mouth. Those enormous tenders do NOT want to be sandwiches!
Yes, yes and yes again. I was initially hesitant to come here because it seemed pricey and "tenders" and "sliders" don't exactly scream bang for your buck. However I'm glad to say I was wrong! The chicken seasoning was not the best. Felt it was over seasoned. The atmosphere was beautiful and service was great. Wish they had other options of food.
