TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

So for the price, I'm gonna find it hard for me to drive out there just to go again. At $22, each was a bit wild. Aside from that, it was good. Chicken had a lot of flavor, was juicy, and crispy. We all got medium heat sliders with cheese fries. I got a tender with the Reaper spice. They make you sign a waiver. I'm no rookie to heat, I love my spice and eating reapers or scorpion peppers, but this was like the devil violated my mouth. I think it's a mix of the peper powder and capsaicin extract. We finally try it. It was good. Customer service was awesome. We did online order so we did not wait in long line.

After my second attempt, (didn't do the long line the1st time) finally got to try Dave's and it didn't disappoint. Chicken tenders were large, juicy, and flavorful, fries were crispy and nicely seasoned, and even the pickles were fresh and crispy. I like spicy food, I like spicy Korean noodles and hot Mex salsas so I got extra hot. I handled it, but it did torch my taste buds. Next time I'll do reg hot, that should be just right.
