TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

Right off the bat, I was greeted pleasantly by a man at the register named Ruben. He provided exceptional customer service while my time there. He took my order in a charismatic, friendly, and welcoming way. Once I completed my order, he repeated the order back to me in a clear, cheerful voice which most fast food employees do not do and by his tone, without a doubt, made me feel welcomed in the restaurant! I wish that I could rate the food that I never received. I was one of 3 in the restaurant. I placed my order . More started to come in . I kept waiting, but when people that came in after me were receiving their orders, I knew that there was a problem. They had gotten most of the orders mixed up. People were coming up and complaining. At that point I asked for a refund. I felt that these employees needed more training. To be honest it was bad. This was my first time going in there and it is my last
I'm pretty sure only 2 to 3 people were working on a Thursday night, so the restaurant was severely understaffed at the time I went. Other than the long wait before placing my order, the food was good. The chicken was hot and crunchy, this was my first time eating here and I was impressed on the flavor and outcome of my meal.
I visited Dave’s hot chicken today and had a great experience! I wasn’t to sure of what to order but Ruben was at the register and helped me choose! He made very good suggestions and helped me narrow it down! I have two kids and he helped me choose the best option for them! The food came out nice and hot and it was very fast! Ruben made sure to repeat back the order and ask if we wanted any Dave’s sauce he was very friendly and nice ! Thank you again Ruben
