TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

SO HAPPY THEY HAVE A LOCATION IN MISSION VALLEY! Was thrilled to hear Dave's finally came to SD and ecstatic when they opened the location in Mission Valley! The parking lot is so odd, but there are a lot of spaces. The location itself is also small, but I don't care because the chicken is so good! Have been here twice in 2 weeks and I can't wait to come back again and again!
They finally dropped a vegetarian-friendly option and it is AMAZING. The cauliflower was the perfect texture-- not mushy at all. A little bit on the pricey side (it's actually more expensive than the chicken.)
Absolutely delicious and juicy chicken, literally every time. They've been very busy since recently opening and so orders have been produced slowly probably due to high orders and not enough staff to meet demand I'd assume, but I have enjoyed my meal every single time we've ordered and although busy, the quality doesn't lack. The boys Devon and Roscoe showed true love. Took care of myself and my people. Can't ask for better customer service than that! If y'all ever want to be taken care of ask for these two, truly amazing souls.
It's a great spot to indulge in fried chicken sliders. I sampled the #3 (one tender, one slider, plus fries). My go-to is the Crack Shack in Little Italy, where I cannot compare it to Dave's, but this definitely hit the spot! I'll most likely come back again and try the Not Chicken Slider and Tender option (read: vegan).
