TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

First time at Dave’s Hot Chicken on Belt Line in Richardson, and we’ll definitely be back. I ordered breakfast and enjoyed it—flavor was solid, chicken was juicy, and everything was fresh. My wife and son were with me, and both of them liked their food too. That says a lot because my wife is a pretty picky eater, and my son can be the same way. Amy was awesome, very kind, and helped us with our decision. My wife and I came in before the rush. The space is clean and bright with natural light. The fries came out crispy and delicious. I ordered the tender w/ slider. I brought in a cup of Raising Cane sauce to dip the tenders and fries. I highly recommend doing so. Overall experience is a 5/5.
Had to give the hot a try. Ordered 2 tender meal w fries and a bonus tender. Was slightly disappointed with the heat of the first tender.... Then the conversation came up and said wait for the second tender.... Then it hit! Sweating! Most excellent! The 2 tender meal is enough of a serving. Saving the bonus tender for breakfast!
Whew! Man, It’s a heat that builds. Met the husband for lunch and had the slider and tender combo. I got the hot, hubs got extra hot and it definitely delivered. Excellent flavor and quality chicken! Seriously some of the juiciest chicken I’ve ever had. Love the slaw and fries too.
The food here was unbelievably salty—easily the saltiest meal I’ve ever had. I could barely take two bites of the sandwich and two fries before giving up. When I called the location to ask if this was normal, they actually said it is normal! If you care about your health, avoid this place and its insane amount of salt. Even by looking at the pictures you can see how salty it is
