Do not order ahead!!! I ended up waiting for 30 minutes after arriving while three different customer ordered and received their (larger) orders before I got my food. Food is okay but it's so slow I'll never come again. Not worth your time at all.

I've been to Dave's hot chicken about 4 times since they've opened in Middletown. The food is delicious and feels like better quality compared to other fast food restaurants. However I wouldn't exactly call this place "fast." Each time I've been here the wait has been 20 minutes or longer. At first I brushed it off as them being new and getting it together, but I can't use that excuse anymore. It's really unfortunate because the chicken is great but the service is the worst I've experienced on the island. I stopped by when they first opened, went inside, ordered a couple different things and it took 45 minutes for them to get my order correct. I gave them a pass since they were so new but since then I've gone back a few times it's always a total mess. I'm giving two stars because the sandwich and fries are good, perfect if you're just going for the food. However, you will have to enter battle and complete a stare down with employees who will not make eye contact with you even though they know you're there to get service. Also, don't expect condiments, utensils, or napkins.

Clean and professional but at 230 in the afternoon it took 20 minutes to get the single item I ordered. Either short handed or terribly inefficient. Regardless, likely won't be back.

Only person in the drive through and I waited 15 minutes at the window. Nobody came to apologize or explain the wait. No ambiance. The workers were also eating in guest facing areas and just standing around. Very unfortunate, no matter how good the food is I will not be returning. The manager needs to train these workers fast.

food took absurdly long was in drive thru for 30 mins and at the window talk thing for at least 10 mins and nobody talked
