I am a big fan of Nashville style chicken. I have tried a fair amount of food spots that offer Nashville style chicken unfortunately I have not tried the popular Dave's Hot Chicken until recently. I arrived on a Sunday afternoon for a late lunch. Dave's Hot Chicken is located in the nice Village Oaks Plaza off Cottle Road in South San Jose. Standard fast food chicken - with a variety of spice levels to choose from. This location has a good amount of seating inside, very clean inside, and extremely friendly employees.

Came here today and the atmosphere was great with outdoor seating and seems really clean. I asked the employee at the register about the spice levels and she said she wasn't sure and didn't eat there, which I thought was strange. The food was okay, not my cup of tea but I can see why some people do like it.

My kids and I had never tried Dave's Hot Chicken before and since we don't eat out much, especially fast food, we thought we'd give it a try. The food itself was good, but the price really surprised me. The kids each got a small top-loaded spicy buffalo mac, and I got the cauliflower tender bites with kale slaw. First time at Dave's hot chicken and I realized that the prices are all not that bad. This is one of the original hot chicken places and it took me this long to final try it! There is a discrepancy on the prices from the menu to what I was charged. Cheese is extra but makes a difference on taste! A meal is enough to share which is great! I love the wiggly fries and the sauce it comes with!

Lots of hot chicken spots have came thru San Jose like a wild fire since Covid. Their are some bad ones and some good. I believe this is one of the good ones. Consistent a little different. Lady at the front had took my order 2/3 times I've been and she's always nice and makes convo. Always asks if we need anything. Very prompt. The place is always kept clean by her too.
