I wanted to like this place, I really did. I listened to the podcast where the original founders talked about how they built up this brand from a street food cart but somehow the reality just did not live up to the hype. I thought the food was very mid at best, and didn't feel like good value with the price point it was at. The seasoning felt too salty and almost to the sweet side, which is an odd combo. Relatively slow service, and the chicken itself -- while nicely fried and quite tasty -- is drowned in spices, which I personally found to be overpowering. Fries were delicious, but also very heavily spiced and salted. Worth a try, but can't say it was my favorite.

Unfortunately I had to update my review to three stars only due to the service issue. I ordered using the app last Sunday and o had to wait close to 50 minutes for my food to pickup in a very crowded place and a long line of people. Then to find out I got my food with no spices instead of being a medium heat ? I feel that I got stock after paying on the app and I had no choice but to waste my time and wait. ?!!! They need to do something about the service asap and it should not take more than 15 minutes to 20 minute... read more

We were pleasantly surprised and impressed at the food quality and taste. There're 7 different spice levels, we got lite-mild and it wasn't spicy at all, but still very flavorful! We pass by Dave's alot and always see a long line, but we went on a weekday evening and there was no wait. I did read reviews that they don't give free water cups but when we went they were giving out free slurpie samples!
