Found the staff very helpful during my wife's short stay. Good activities available. The manager was very helpful in sorting out the placement.

My mum came into a transitional care bed from hosptial following a fall. She had a chest infection and a UTI and had some confusion. My dad has Alzheimers and can't live alone. He came as a temporary resident to the care home next door and the staff of both homes helped them to spend the day together. Both the activities leaders encouraged them to join in activities and tried to involved mum in things she could do - she is registered blind. Encouraging her to recite poetry which she enjoyed doing. She had lost a lot of weigh... read more

Mum was only in respite for 3 weeks but received excellent care from all the staff and particularly liked the way all residents were spoken to. Even if they couldn't answer, they were treated as human beings at all times.

My mother has been a resident here for 2 and a half years. Initially, we were attracted by the quality of accommodation offered but obviously, there is much more to making a care home feel like home. This happens as a result of the kindness and patience shown by the staff on a daily basis. Most importantly, I have seen for myself how management is responding to areas recently deemed to 'requires improvement' and I am genuinely impressed by their openness to discuss their shortcomings and their determination to improve their ... read more

My wife has been a resident at Eccleshare Court since August 2016. She has Vascular dementia and is immobile so nursing care is very important for her as well as personal care and feeding. This has become progressively more demanding over the past 6 months. The care home staff and nursing have done a good job caring for her especially when I was unable to visit due to illness. Initially undergoing refurbishment when she was admitted with a change in management and a number of new staff it was I who was concerned for her well... read more

Two family members have been resident for over a year. I was pleased and reassured when I first visited the home and I have not been disappointed. Despite the challenges of meeting complex needs, I feel that the care is compassionate, the environment is clean and comfortable and there is a range of services and activities available. Residents are able to personalise their rooms, visitors are welcomed and engaged with and particular needs are accommodated where possible. Of late, major redecorating has been undertaking bring... read more

My mum was sent here from hospital. From the moment I walked in when mum was admitted I knew I'd made a terrible mistake. She was left hanging in a hoist as the battery was not charged, before being taken in the lift to her room, shouted at for not for not lifting her leg (she had had a stroke) and put into a bed with no cot sides, which didn't appear till the next day! Arriving the next morning mum had a large skin tear on her stroke hand, she was given a normal meal for lunch, explained she was a level four puree as in her... read more

The home needs some attention. Don't believe the owners spend much on it, especially as the fees are disgusting for what the residents receive. The manager is lovely and very helpful but one member of staff thinks she is the manager.

Overall rating good but some staff are better than others so lack of consistency. Silly little things which niggle at you could be easily rectified if staff took a little more time and care. For example, mother dressed in a really creased jumper, tee shirts left on all day with tea stains etc from breakfast, hair not brushed, wheelchair not cleaned on a weekly basis, like it should be.

Business response:

Thank you for taking the time to write your review for Eccleshare Court Care and Nursing Home. Your feedback is truly valued and appreciated. We continuously strive to provide excellent care, food and engaging activities for our residents. Warmest regards
