Personal care routines not followed, despite repeated asking. Room was sparse and the chair had been removed and not replaced until brought to the attention of management. Clock hadn't worked for over a year. Overfeeding, despite being asked to keep portions to a normal amount. Wearing of other people’s clothes, despite ours being clearly marked.

I expected the home to be friendly, unfortunately, I was very disappointed. My father and myself get ignored. The facilities for visitors (coffee and tea are near impossible) The machine is always out of order, and the kitchen is now locked up. The kitchen staff are super but no longer available as it's closed. I have made complaints many times, this doesn't help either. My father is very lonely and feels the same. I could be there for 3 - 4 hours and see no - one at all. My father may be demented but he says a lot to me.

Business response:

I know my father is happy here but it is virtually impossible to get through to you on the phone. I tried every day for two weeks to try and speak to someone and that was six times a day (fitting this between work, using breaks etc.) Not once was the phone picked up. I have the correct number and I know it's the same for when my mum tries. Please update your phone system or even have an answering system which will get back to someone who calls.

Business response:

I wouldn't even send my dying dog into this place as the care you get is minimal and if you have a particular reason for extra care then it is not adhered to, and thus, your family or friend suffer more than they should. And, if you are medically trained and ask questions they hate answering them. Thats even if you can get through on the phone at all, especially on the weekends. And god forbid you ask for a callback, thats a big nono, and if we had the chance to pick again, then it would definitely not be here.

Business response:

We’re sorry to read that you are unhappy with your experience at Eccleshare Court. We know how difficult a situation it is whenever a resident with us is unwell and we always try to abide by your wishes as a family. Parent sent by the hospital for respite care. Not equipped for bariatric care. Most of the Carers were friendly and encouraging. Very caring if somewhat overworked nursing staff. In house laundry service quite good, although new face cloths and towels permanently disappeared. The food looked and tasted very good. Some food was homemade which was excellent.

Staff are great but not enough of them at times. My stay was great.
