Excellent staff and care at this facility! The techs, nursing staff and other reps were skilled, friendly, respectful and caring. The physical and occupational therapists were great also! We were so impressed we hired Encompass for home therapist care for the rest of my mother's recovery needs. They tolerated us asking lots of questions and provided the answers we needed. This is a review of what is now HealthSouth of Richardson, which took over for Reliant. My mother had to be admitted to rehab after a disaster of a colonoscopy. She had to refine her motor skills and build up strength after being confined to an ICU hospital bed for 11 straight days. This facility had plenty of attentive staff all doing their jobs - it was refreshing to not see staff standing around laughing or staring at their phones while patients are just left unattended. One of the best facilities for rehab in the city. The facility is clean. Staff is always friendly and takes the time to answer any questions that you may have. The docs there make all effort to take care of their patients, and I have seen the rehab hospital eat the cost of some consults when they didn't have to. That tells me that money isn't the only thing on their mind, and that they are willing to go that extra mile to make sure the patient experience is great. Don't bring your loved ones here. The staff in the form of the nurses and therapy are great. However, the techs are lazy and do not want to do their jobs. They also do not respect or treat the patients with kindness. Also they seemingly want the nurses to help them and/or do their jobs for them. Do not let your loved ones go here. The right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. Could not get my medicines right. Some nurses did not know how to hook up oxygen right. I have to believe any five star ratings on here were done by the facility. And I worked in this field in similar type facilities for 20 years. I know bad when I see it. I had to forbid one tech not to come in my room because she was so lazy, uncaring and rude. I usually had to get up to the bathroom without assistance because no one came.... read more
