I just moved into this facility, and the whole process has been great. The customer service can't be beat, and my unit was easy to move into.

Hector inspired me to write this post by being exceptionally helpful as I went through the move-out process. What a nice guy. However, the fact is that everyone I met there was professional, the facilities are good, and their online interface is simple and easy to use. Highly recommended.

I am a new member to Extra Space to thus far my experience has been good. The person I worked with was very nice, and showed me around the facility. The space I am using was clean and in good condition. She walked me through how to access my things. I have nothing but positive things to say at this time.

I stored about a room's worth of items for almost a year in a 5'x8' unit. The staff are super friendly and do their job well. They always had an answer to my questions, as well. The facilities were clean, indoor and temperature controlled. When I went to get my stuff to move out, the staff person on duty was cleaning and waxing the floors. The best thing about Extra Space Storage on McGrath Hwy is Thanya! She's the office manager working most days during normal business hours. I was moving by myself--not fun--but she made the whole experience better. Thanya helped me pick a unit, get a lock, explained the door codes, and made me laugh all at the same time! Moving stuff around is generally a drag, but I actually look forward to it now because I get to see Thanya. I know that sounds silly, but it's true. These guys went above and beyond. I was going to use a competitor, but they closed earlier than their website listed and when I called they said: "sorry we can't help you" (I have a moving van and boxes I needed to move that day!!) Not the case with extra storage - Chris the assistant store manager was amazing - completely kind and professional. I got one of the "first month free" offers and, ended up using the unit for just over a month and a half. That said, this was the cheapest I could have possible rented the amount of space I need for. Also the woman who I dealt was fantastic. She contacted me directly before I moved into the unit and worked with me in the most positive manner to prorate the second month when I moved out mid-month. The way the unites are framed out is not perfect, but it perfectly suitable for storage.

This place was wonderful! The rates were highly competitive (with a discount the first month), and the staff was nice. There were always hand carts available for moving boxes. (And handcarts are often WAYYY more useful than dollys) Location wise, this place is pretty convenient as well. I moved my stuff from Harvard Square, and Cambridge street is pretty dead during non-peak hours so it was a quick drive over.
