Very shady business practices. We dealt with Robert at the Placentia location. He took us to see our unit and we a greed to space. We get back to the office and we start the transaction to rent the space. At no time during reservation or speaking to agent over the phone did anyone mention anything about insurance. Robert gives us our total of 66 plus 14 for insurance. We ask him why we are being charged for insurance and said it's a mandatory charge. Moved in just over 4 months ago. Good interaction with a helpful associate getting all the paperwork organized. 4 months later, the price increased by about 15-20%! I could not believe that they would raise my rental so quickly..and expect this will be a 4 more re-occuring theme....so I immediately canceled my storage contract. WARNING PLEASE READ ****This happened to my sister. Definitely the worst storage ever. I had my belongings in there for 1 month and alot of my stuff was stolen. It was definitely an inside job. They picked my lock and then locked it back up. They stole my TV, 2 brand new fans, a drone, my nice expensive camera that by the way wasnt suppose to be in there, a brand new ice chest blue, but the worst thing ever is that they took a chest full of my kids and family's pictures. My family has been using this storage space for years (prior to Extra Space taking over). With recent management changes we have been very disappointed with recent experiences. There seems to be a lack of communication and things not properly notated, which results in no resolution. Due to this issues we decided to move our stuff out of the unit. The unit I am paying for is incredibly less than than what I am paying in rent. Yes, I have been late with payments, but definitely not many times and never more than a two or three days. There is no reason for a such a large difference other than to take ADVANTAGE of a person and their situation. I think this Storage company deserves zero stars. Here's why! - We have been customers on and off for 3 years. In the beginning all was good, however over this time the staff have become more incompetent. - We have been wrongly locked out of our unit several times, through their mistakes. I wonder why my review keeps getting removed!? If you value your property do not use them...many items I had in storage are now damaged or missing yet they claim no one has entered my unit! No one has yet to provide me with the surveillance tapes as I requested to see who is responsible for the lost and damaged property! These people are crooks!
