Great, clean place to store that extra stuff. Good value. Ricky was helpful, professional, knowledgeable and easy to work with. You can tell he cares about providing a great customer service experience. Better value than the other storage space I have at a competitor which I will be vacating soon. The door to the unit is a bit tricky but the unit was as clean as my garage and big enough to get me out of two other storage units at a more expensive competitor.
This facility is a bit away from the 880, but it's easy to find with plenty of parking. The site manager, Rick is a friendly and helpful gentleman. He explained in great detail the company's policies, disclosed all fees and information for a future move-out. I had to call their office today to plan our future move out, Rick answered the phone and was very professional and enthusiastic in providing the requested information. I have full confidence in recommending this facility based on the exceptional service.
New ownership with superior service. clean storages, anti theft alarm great prices. If someone breaks into your storage the alarm will go off. Come stop by and get at my man rick for all of your storage needs. Glad to do business with rick.
When I started storing my items the company was called Smart Stop (or something like that). New ownership. The manager is really helpful and knowledgeable.
My last review was 5 stars. Had my stuff in this place for years. I recently had a death in the family and I recently got a new debit card so the payment update slipped my mind. After being here for years and continuously getting my price raised I haven't said anything or any complaints. I get a call today and told I will have to pay late fees on top of my unit rental or my stuff will be locked and this was the first call they gave me!! I find Erin at Extra Space Storage knowledgeable and easy to work with. I am moving out of the 5 x 10 unit because of the unpredictable price increases. I moved in Feb 2020 with a stated price of $74/month. I then prepaid the very next month for five months at the same rate. As soon as the prepaid term ended, I was notified the cost went up to $81/ month - a $7 month (or 109%) of the original cost after only 6 months renting. I prepaid the next six months at $81/month. Thankfully the former manager of the Castro Valley location is no longer working there. She was beyond horrendous and should never have had a job working with the public. Although they have new staff, it appears that they are trying. A good first step in the right direction. They are very overpriced but I have not had any theft issues aside from the former manager rummaging through my entire unit and destroying thousands of dollars worth of my property. The staff is just plain rude! I rented here for over a year so you can imagine I spent A LOT of money here. Let's start with the price increases. Be aware they increase your rental unit price about every couple months without any type of notice at all. When I moved my things there was small moths inside a couple of my stored bags. I never told them I was moving out either I was simply cleaning and was going to change the lock when they did a "move out" and emailed me about it. Get ready for CONSTANT RENT INCREASES! I was at this place for 3 years and every 4 months, they would increase the rent, till I was paying 3 times as much. Watch out for that, it will get expensive real soon. They assume you are too lazy to move and keep cranking up the rates. Best thing to do? Get shelves and get ready to move. I moved and my rates are back to normal now. This makes a satisfied business relation impossible, as the value constantly diminishes.
