He was very good in explaining my concerns and helping me better understand what my surgery had entailed and what I can do to stay active in order to keep my knees in their best conditions.. I am sorry to hear he will be leaving the practice and wish him well!

Dr. Akhtar was clear that this was an elective surgery and explained why I was a candidate who would qualify to be recommended for a total knee replacement. I felt comfortable with his explanation and opted for the surgery performed by him personally rather than using robotics. He answered all of my questions and alleviated any of my concerns.

I had a million questions about surgery. I had been gathering them in a notebook. Dr. Akhtar let me go through all of the questions, never rushing me and always providing clarifications. He never pressured me into a decision and gave me good data to help make my choices.Surgery went very well, recovery had a few bumps, but Dr. Akhtar was there the whole way to answer any questions.Getting my life back from pain has been a long journey, and Dr. Akhtar has been an amazing doctor and surgeon to get me moving along that path!

I didn’t have a chance to meet Dr. Akhtar. I did however his medical assistant, who is very pleasant unfortunately, the young gentleman didn’t understand a body image issue that I have. Was offered a pair of paper shorts and told I would be walked them all to x-ray. This is not something I can do without great anxiety. Embarrassment. I ended up leaving before an x-ray or meeting Dr. Akhtar.
