I felt that he was truly interested in my health.
My initial visit with Dr Akhtar was to discuss hip replacement surgery. I was anxious! My research shows that he is young, up to date on newest procedures and technology and has a good rapport with patients. Attending staff, Indie, was helpful and knowledgeable. Additional X-rays were taken quickly and competently. Dr. Akhtar was empathic, listened to my concerns, tolerated my joking, and explained procedures clearly. We split our time between South Carolina and New York. I was so pleased with Dr Akhtar helping and guiding me through hip replacement last year. I wouldn't consider anyone but Dr Akhtar to continue my health care with knee problems.I'm thankful for him and his team.Everyone is professional and helpful.

I was totally impressed by Dr. Akhtar’s competence, expertise and the attentive and caring way in which he guided me through the whole surgical experience. He and his team were utterly amazing from start to finish, and I could not have had a better outcome. I am walking comfortably and confidently without assistance only 6 weeks after surgery, something I have not been able to do in several years.
Don’t let his youth fool you. He’s a great surgeon and even better human. He replaced both my hips over a 6 month period. I recommend him to everyone
Had a total hip replacement and from start to finish he was great! Really takes the time to talk to you until are exactly sure what you are in for. Totally would refer him to anyone!
I saw Dr. Akhtar for a follow up after a RTHR. Always friendly and matter of fact. I trust him.
First of all I didn't have to wait three hours like I did for my last hip doctor and be in screaming pain from sitting so long. It wasn't until after the x-rays to when it really hurt. The assistant took all my info and then Dr. A came in and all I was focused on was getting an injection, so I could relieve the pain in my hip. However, the doctor said its been a while we should look how its progressed.
