Hope it was worth it Took almost 4.5 months from time of signed contract to installation of panels. Had to do majority of the legwork with our HOA and local utility company otherwise we would still be waiting for approvals and installation. To date, only 70% of installation is complete. Crews did not show up until 5:00pm and worked in the dark with 1 person that had 1 headlamp and lights from an auto. Not impressed.
Rotten To The Core A few months ago this company had me doing electrical work for them. They gave me over 30 hours of overtime in a single pay period. It was the most work I have put in for any company in my life. I did it in good faith, trusting that they were on the level, and communicated with them clearly at all turns to let them know the complications of the specific jobs they had assigned me. Choose another company! ION Solar is not the company for you. Once you sign the contract the trouble starts. It took about 6 months to have my system installed. During the project one project manager quit or was fired and I wasn't told he had left. So after waiting for 3 month with no information on the progress of the system I tried to get a hold of the original project manager and was told he no longer worked for the company. Overpriced, major misquotes/mistakes, bad customer service A current customer, some of my panels were damaged in baseball-sized hailstorm. Ion provided a quote, which I submitted to my insurance. After insurance payout, Ion Solar came back w/a quote 3 times the first quote. I submitted it to insurance for adjustment, but the additional payment didn't come close to covering even a portion. Pressure First, I HATE salesmen & I HATE it when they solicit me at my home...my sanctuary. I am totally in favor of renewables, but I have never been so pressured to buy something before. It started when all I was doing was changing a light bulb on my garage exterior & ION's salesman approached me. It was cold out & I didn't have a jacket on. Ion solar Sales and installation were ok , post installation has been a nightmare. After a year of trouble free use we received a bill from the power company for a months worth of summer time power that apparently are system wasn't registering power generation to the grid. Long story short we now have 1K of power bills (4 months into are non functioning system) and very sporadic returned calls and may broken commitments. Customer service is non existant at this point. Go elsewhere!
Bad idea, steer clear We were already considering solar power when the salesman stopped by. We had extensive questions and had done quite a bit of research. The whole process of getting them installed was fairly simple and smooth. Unfortunately, that's when the problems started. Just say no! Initially I was ready to support solar on my home, but was wary with the slick sales. That was the easiest part of the whole process. It began with the initial install date where the installers never showed up. I called the project manager after waiting an hour, who informed me they should be there - she checked her schedule - and then realized they had already called to say they couldn't make it due to weather. Great at the beginning but horrible experience The salesman was awesome and so did the product I was so ready and excited to go solar but afterwards I had a few questions about what would happen if I moved so I put it on hold.
