Should Have Done My Homework Unhappy Customer in Salt Lake City! We should have read the reviews on ION SOLAR BEFORE SIGNING THE CONTRACT. NOT HAPPY WITH THE OUTCOME OF THE PROJECT. Install time took too long The Ion Energy Consultant gave a good pitch about the product but did not think it was going to take 5 months to complete the install. There were also issues along the way that I had to keep calling the company so they could complete my install.
Not good company to deal with. I have solar panels installed in June 2020, they calculated 10 panels to cover my 80 to 90% electricity monthly but the fact is their panel only produced 15 to 20% of electricity we used monthly. Keep calling w/o success. I sent letters to BBB, then got call, then the manager from headquoter of ion Solar called me and insist everything is working, but can not give my reasons why we did not get what they promised. U say that I will Lower My electric bill by 75% of what I pay . My electric bill is higher then what I was paying be for I got This thing ON my ROOF. Now I have to pay 132.00 to Tech CU and my electric Bill which is 25.00 more then be for. Terrible This is long.. **DO NOT CHOSE ION SOLAR AS YOUR SOLAR COMPANY** I want to start by saying the people we dealt with were "nice" people. Everyone we talked to spoke with a smile on their face, but their customer service is TERRIBLE! We started with ION in mid February. Hated the sales process; seems to be high quality This company seems to have high quality materials and workmanship, but I absolutely hated the sales process. We are located in Cary, NC and a man came to our door on Friday afternoon and set up the appointment for Saturday. My husband was told it would be a 30-minute consultation. It ended up taking 3 1/2 hours. The salesman wasted lots of time asking us personal questions and chit chatting. Not great We are happy to have solar, but we didn't have a great experience. The sales guy left out a few crucial details about the loan and how solar works: 1) how the loan payment nearly doubles at 17 months unless you apply a tax credit, and even then, it's still higher 2) how we still pay the power company to stay connected to their grid 3) how we have to add solar to our homeowners insurance, which increased our payment slightly. BE AWARE I'M GOING THRU A REFI AND THE FINANCE COMPANY ION SOLAR SENT ME THRU PUT A LEAN ON MY HOME. THE SALESMAN ADVISED THERE WOULD NOT BE A LEAN PUT ON MY PROPERTY. I HAD TO PAY TECHCU CREDIT UNION $225 TO TAKE THE LEAN OFF OF MY HOME. NO I HAVE NOT BEEN LATE WITH MY BILL IT IS SETUP ON AUTO DRAFT. Poor Communication and Service, Overcharged. I have been an ION Solar customer for 2 1/2 years. My house was built in 2016 and solar panels were installed in March 2018. In mid 2019, it was discovered that many homes built on my block had defective roofs due to a bad batch of material (Granule Loss). I had my roof inspected, and sure enough, my roof was defective.
