Chutney at 63rd and 3rd ave, nyc, was horrible. I asked her to keep my hair light, she did not. I told her it was not right. She said that is what I asked for and it was light. She argued with me and was very nasty. Nellie said she would fix my hair. When I came back the following week Nellie was fantastic! She spent 3 1/2 hours fixing my hair. She was beyond nice. Meanwhile Chutney was giving me nasty looks. I said she should apologize. She said she had nothing to apologize for. Called me psycho! Is that customer service?... read more

I previously got color here a year ago and figured why not treat myself to a pre birthday treat. I arrived early and do agree with the review previously about no one coming to greet you. I was left alone up front for over 10 minutes almost wondering how this is even safe from a stealing purpose. Finally a short hair blonde woman came out and sat me. This place is an unorganized disaster. I'm so sad this was my first experience with a Madison Reed color bar. My appointment was made for 2:15, I arrived a few minutes early to get checked in since it was my first time there. No one said anything when I walked in so I stood by the register for about 10 mins before a stylist finally said to just take a seat. 2:45 rolls around and no one has said anything to me so I attempted to ask the stylist that told me to check in. I asked for highlights I told her I don't want them to light. She frosted the ends as well and my hair came super light. I told her it was to light and she said it looks good it was my color etc. She know it was wrong I have been doing highlights for years so I know. She didn't do the back of my hair as I told her it came back darker it was a mess. If she didn't know how to do highlights she should have let me know.
