I left with dye all over my face. It was across my forehead and on my cheeks/ sideburns area. The color did NOT cover the grey hair. they don't use conditioner after washing.

This was the worst color service I have ever experienced. I went with My cousin went in for a balayage and was told that she be could not go as blonde as the reference photo because her natural hair is too dark but that she can get a caramel balayage. We said that is fine but that was not the case my cousins hair was worse than she went in. Do not come here unless you're only looking for single color. Please see the reference photos below. Several of the locations I have visited over the years do not stock sufficient hair supplies, I.e., combs, brushes, diffusers. Hair products are often near-empty at the self-service blow dry counters. Black towels have been over-used to the point where they are abrasive to the touch. Blow dryer filters are often filthy. Staff seem very stressed. Forgot my toner in summer. Asked for whole head highlights and only got partial this winter. Have trouble not going brassy. Have trouble with gray coverage. Staff uneven, sone fantastic. Some rude, but I think it's because they are under pressure. I have hearing loss, and vacuum cleaner was on, stylist could not hear me, and she got impatient, told me to use my words then told me I was speaking too loudly. Need customer service and cultural sensitivity training, maybe.

I went in for color since the last salon I had been to did a terrible job. The color that I saw on the screen was very different from what appeared on my hair. Not only was the color very bright, but it was all over my scalp and when I washed it the next day, it was all over my towel. I will not return.

After reading reviews, I was skeptical whether I should try it out. Knowing sometimes people don't always leave positive reviews to balance the negative but I was wrong. Worst experience! I went in knowing it probably wouldn't be perfect but shared my inspo picture with the hair colorist. She spoke with me about it and made it seem like she knew what she was doing. No stars. I have been a loyal Madison Reed customer for a few years. Have been going to Rockville store on a regular basis (every 4 or 5 weeks) for 2 years. In January, I was injured and had neck surgery. Today I went in to have my hair colored for the first time in months. I cannot lean back in the wash chair and asked the manager to accommodate me by either letting me leave with the color in my hair (to wash out at home)or by letting me stand up to lean over their sink (as one of the colorists suggested).
