took our family of 7 (grandparents, "kids", and grandkids) for family dinner. very comfortable. excellent food and service. the wait staff were there when we needed them but didn't hover. great anticipation as to what we needed and when we needed it. everyone ordered something different and all was delicious. would go back again. wonderful 2 hours of family togetherness.
I want to like Mangiamo more than I do. It is such a beautiful location and has so much potential to be great, but in spite of excellent service, the food usually falls flat. The atmosphere is so perfect for families, couples, and large groups. I love the decor and the different rooms with varying table sizes. Mangiamo always comes to mind when we have a larger group for a special occasion and sometimes when it's just two of us who want a romantic dinner. I just wish the food was a little more notable. Great service....food and ambiance! ...appreciate the moderate pricing too.
As 1st time visitors with the massive size of the place we expected a mass produced family style product similar to Buca de Beppo chain and it was anything but! You have one large group family style choices but the individual items we got for just 2 diners were well crafted and tasty! Most creative do-it-yourself bruschetta with delicious topping on Walleye special and the steak w/ roasted veggies was artful and a good cut of beer for the price. Well be back!
A complete awesome dinng experience. The food was great. (The calamari app was to die for.) The service was great. The atmosphere was amazing. (It's an old mansion)
The food is very good with a nice variety on the menu. The staff are very professional and friendly. We were seated promptly and courteously. The food came to the table in a reasonable time, hot and fresh. Delicious in presentation and taste.
The food and service every time we go there is exceptional. We always have a good time and we are treated like family. The wait staff is very attentive and the kitchen is always willing to put things on the side or substitute ingredients as I have many allergies.
We visited Mangiamo's for the first time in a few years for our 30th anniversary. It was perfect - we sat outside on the patio, had a relaxed, enjoyable dinning experience. Although there were a number of others on the patio, the tables are spaced out and the atmosphere allowed us to talk and share and enjoy being together at the end of a busy day. The food was excellent, the service very welcoming and friendly. We will go back soon!
This was my first time at Mangiamo! and the food was excellent! Myself and a friend enjoyed the lasagna and chicken alfredo and was not disappointed. The portion size allowed for leftovers that tasted great the next day, and the side salads were amazing. Everything tasted fresh and was very simple. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone that was seeking a nice Italian dinner in the heart of Grand Rapids.
