I actually tood a tour here and I found it clean and nice.

There are limited staff available, and they are stretched thin. Turnover is a major issue. Based off of our experience there, I could not recommend Meridian at Laguna Hills.
The facility was great when I moved my parents there however in the last year it has been declining and got so bad that I moved them out almost two months ago. The service in the restaurant was horrible due to staff shortage. The food was always cold and often they would wait over 30 minutes for food. There was severe water damage early in the year destroying the hallway to the entrance to the elevators. The building itself is old, it needs to be renovated completely from head to toe. They need to install a new AC and heating because it does not work in the main building. The staff are short handed and they really need to care more and be present. They need to incorporate new and different activities, there are to many residents that just sit alone. They also should have someone seating the residents at meal times because there are to many residents that sit alone again or are not encouraged to sit with other residents.

Our community has a Resident Ambassador Program which consists of 17 very friendly residents who welcome all new residents into the community. Staffing in the resident dining room are inefficient and understaffed. Maintenance is slow to respond to problems. Management promises are ineffective. The food is great. Just takes forever to get to you.

The care is horrible, and management is totally inept. The general staff are friendly, but they can't do anything to help the problems there because of poor management. The other residents are nice. But the physical location was horrible. My loved one was without hot water and heat for most of the first three weeks she lived there. Since then, on and off she's been without hot water, heat, and/or air conditioning for weeks at a time. I'm moving OUT of Villa Valencia after a year. There is no way this place is a five star facility! I don't know who rated it, but they are so so wrong. The help here is superb. The employees are kind, pleasant, thoughtful, accommodating, amusing, enjoyable to be around.
