Works Fine For me, Fantastic Price, a Few Caveats Overall impression, this is a fine printer for the price. Print quality was great for color and normal black and white. Plenty fast for both color photo and black and white. Scanner works fine, copier function works fine, prints from cell phone fine. Haven't tried NFC as I added it to my phone on the LAN and haven't tried the fax machine function using cellphone yet. I don't have a land line to hook it up to either. Good cheap printer. Lots of really usefull stuff. Printer, copyer, scanner, and fax. Very nice for the price.
Works fine After reviewing several, I choose this Brother MFC-J491DW because if its cost over the life of the printer. Some priters were better in quality and size, but this one has affordable ink refills. It is quick enough for me. It lives down in our basement with my Raspberry Pi servers, 3D printers, and occasional visitors. The printer is generally finished or kicking out the finished paper by the time I get to it.
So far, so good. Very nice printer, compatible with my Apple Mac Book. Set up easily, good quality printing, not super fast, but perfectly fine for my own personal use. Wish the touch screen was a little larger, but sufficient for my use. I LIKE THIS PRINTER> I have had it for about 3 weeks now.
Decent Hard to hook up to Wifi...sometimes it disconnects from Wifi
Really nice printer at a great price. Really nice printer at a great price. I didn't have a lot of money, but I needed a nice printer and for less than fifty dollars for an all in one multi function printer with fax and flatbed and sheet-fed scanner with USB and WiFi this is a great deal.
i only buy brother printers I think brother is the best brand of printer and this printer doesn't disappoint. easy functionality and good quality. would buy again.
Easy set-up, unless you're running Linux. (A REAL pain) I'm overall pleased with this printer, especially with the fact that I can replace individual ink tanks. Set up with a desktop running Windows 10 was easy with the supplied installation cd. I had to download the software for a laptop, but again that was easy. It was even easy to download and install software for my iPad. However, it has been a hair-pulling, teeth gritting, word swearing effort in trying to install software in an older desktop running Linux Mint. Brother... read more
Works great. It is as described, set up was easy, wifi works, no major issues, other than the print quality was a little pixelated when printing pictures onto regular paper. Nothing major and the only reason it did not get a 5 star review. This is a nice printer tho. I am very happy with my purchase. Great price too.
