All is good Can't find anything bad to say about the Brother MFC-J895DW printer. It's a great device. We recently bought this to replace a previous Brother inkjet printer that lasted eight years. You can easily print and scan with your phone using the free Brother app iPRINT&SCAN.
Good little "essentials" printer but.. Bought this for my at home office...mainly to print return labels and shipping labels for my etsy store. Was very easy to set up and coordinate with my laptop. I use this printer pretty infrequently..maybe once a month, and after maybe 3 months I was shocked to get the "out of ink" error message seeing as I had only printed maybe 8 pages of only black and white and the printer was telling me i was dead out of Yellow. what the crap? now i have to order an expensive pack of color ink to k... read more

Disappointed in the software I use to enjoy using the ControlCenter 4 scanning. It was very simply for this Old Man. But the new version is vastly inferior to the older version and tech support is non existent. You can't email tech support, like the good old days. As far as the printer, it is OK. It is the second printer I use. It is upsetting that they changed what was once great software.
Reliable I bought this about 6 months ago from a local bigbox for a light duty home office printer/copier and it worked fine. Just last week I was hit with an unexpected requirement for a large copy project. I considered outsourcing it but finally decided to have a go with my little Brother J895DW. Three days, four reams of paper, and four ink cartridges later the job was finished and the printer never balked once. Sure, not the fastest printer I've ever had but it got the job done. No complaints.
