Great all-in-one for home use I was looking to replace my dying Canon and was sick of it dropping wifi. I did a ton of research before purchasing, this brother and after 3 months, I still like it. Zero issues connecting to my network, and it prints quickly. It scans well and prints decent photos. Docked 1 star because there is no such thing as the perfect printer.

WiFi keeps disabling and I’ve done more than a few hours of troubleshooting, resetting, reformatting to get it working again only for nothing to work permanently. I’ve read that it’s the auto sleep mode’s fault. And since you can’t diable that, it’s a constant issue. Just use the USB, it prints better. Just unfortunate that the features we got for it are useless now.

Great quality and great price (for the ink, too). This is, by far, the most advanced printer I've owned. The scanner works perfectly, it connects to WiFi, and both the printer and ink cost very little compared to similar printers. You can supposedly print from your phone, which is neat, but I haven’t tried that as of now. I haven’t needed to use it as a fax machine, so I don’t know how that works out. Who faxes stuff nowadays, though?
Great Printer: Good at graphics and Economical on Ink Usage I am very pleased with this printer after using it for several months. I ordered new ink cartridges after noticing some lines in black areas on a printed page. Turned out that doing the cartridge cleaning process fixed the lines. Good enough. So far works well and happy with it. Though I tried printing photos on photo paper and the quality wasn’t consistent for me by default when printing from smart phone. I had to send the photo to a computer and change the print quality settings to get decent photo printing.
Good printer wish it worked both wired(network) and wireless - it’s either one not both Love the printer, yes not a photo printer with works great for home and school homework print outs. Easy to install ( though it only works either in WiFi or wired mode and not both )
very fast and the ink cartridges are easy to install and doesn't dry out My techno guy referred me to this printer after the failure of a previous printer by Epson. His reccommendations proved correct as this printer by Brother is quiet, very fast and the ink cartridges are easy to install and doesn't dry out. I think the investment is well worth it in the long run. I would reccommend this to anyone in need of a fast quiet printer at a reasonalbe price.
Best printer we've ever had! Our 4th printer in about 20 years and this one is the easiest to handle, by far! It was simple to set-up and works perfectly. It holds a ton of paper so I'm not constantly refilling the tray. It does print a bit slower than others we've had but it's worth the wait. The copy and scan features are also easy to navigate. Highly recommended at a can't miss price!
Best Value & Qualtiy For Your Money ! I first purchased the Epson 2750 Workforce all-in-one, but it consumed ink like my Ford F350 (7.5L) consumes gas. I then found the reviews for the Brother MFC-J985D, and it's capability to print 2400 pages per cartridge (black XXL), as well as 1200 pages per cartridges (color).
