Hear their ads on the radio all the time. I like the idea of using a local, family owned company, so when I needed some work done I thought I'd give them a try. Used their website Book Now option to schedule an appointment for work on a shower that had lost hot water pressure and had heavy calcium build up on the spout. For this job, I had hired them to move one toilet supply line, and redo drains under the house in August---a BIG job. They came on a Friday to do the toilet line and finished on Saturday. I didn't realize until Monday that the toilet tank they'd reset had been overflowing since they left, due to not cutting down the supply tube to the right height. Never use Mike Counsil Plumbing. I had a clogged kitchen sink and called Mike Counsil. They immediately scheduled a person to come out. This person was an estimator (Gert). He came and looked under the sink and said the drainage pipe had to be snaked but in addition the pipe assembly under the sink needed to be replaced. There was a nickel plated pipe installed and these pipes corrode and will leak. He said they need to be replaced with ABS (plastic) type pipes. Outrageously overpriced. Bait and switch. Hired them because of claim of "40 year experience." I have a custom counter top and needed some expert help mounting my kitchen sink so it wouldn't come loose again. It's mounted through plywood, and over time the wood compresses and the faucet gets loose. 2 guys showed up and took a lot of pictures. Next to my water meter, I had a slow leak from the copper water supply pipe. When I dug a hole, I found the tiny leak. The quote from MC Pluming was $1,100. I ended up fixing it for $87. for parts and tools from Home Depot.

STAY AWAY FROM MIKE COUNSIL PLUMBING!! Last week, called them (from Thumbtack) to move a water supply line to a toilet in a bathroom we don't often use. They did so. Three days later, I discovered a leak. It's been leaking all over my new hardwood floor---for 3 days! In addition, their contract/bid to replace just the drains under the house was so high that my family members--who own a local residential construction business--said it was insane, and to cancel the work immediately. Mike was called out to our house for a leaking pipe, ended up convincing my family member that the entire bathroom needed to be gutted and replaced. What should have been a fairly quick fix ended up costing tens of thousands of dollars, and the job was never complete. Additionally, the new sink backs up spewing water all over the floor and the new toilet runs. Avoid MC Plumbing at all costs- it's certainly cheaper than choosing them. needed two faucets replaced in our bathroom. We had the faucets already. We asked for a quote and when they came out we were looking at a quote for $1500.00. I looked at the two men like they had 15 heads! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Also wanted to charge us $250.00 X 2 for some part they said needed to be replaced under the sink. We kinds declined their offer and my son in law graciously replaced our faucets.
