Do not use Mike Counsil Plumbing. I had them come out to look into a smell that was coming from my master bedroom sink, and they proceeded to do their investigation of the problem. They started out in the toilet and said they could not get a camera down into the pipes to determine if it the pipes where clogged. They proceeded say that I needed to upgrade my pipes to add a vent and a two way valve in the front yard to just investigate the problem unfortunately we let them proceed due to the fear they led onto that it was a cl... read more

Go anywhere else, the poor rating here is well deserved and I wish I'd checked before having them do work at my place. They'll quote ridiculously expensive rates on work that doesn't need to be done. Ridiculously overpriced quotes on work that doesn't need to be done, and patronizing responses to bad reviews.

Patently unethical estimates for insanely over-priced and unnecessary work. Go elsewhere for your plumbing needs. I called regarding a blocked sewer line on a Friday afternoon. The rep came out went under the house to examine. Once he came to discuss the work, he said the sewer had broken under the base rock beneath the house (it wasn't visible but sewage was coming from the area), and there were pools of sewage under the house, and the entire line to the street would have to be replaced. What a ripoff! I had a cartridge that needed to be replaced in my shower faucet. The technician agreed it was probably a 30 minute job. Then we looked up a price in a big pricing book and told me it would be over $600!!! When I told him that was ridiculous, he looked up another line in his price book and told me he could do it for $485! Totally crazy. They only work by the job, not by the hour. First, I never post anything on Yelp but I felt compelled to in this situation. My bathtub and sink had a backup. I called Mike Council Plumbing. They came out in a timely fashion and their techs were very friendly. They did a complimentary camera of my sewer line and went under the house to examine the plumbing. Was that necessary? Probably not but no harm. They came to my house to give me a quote for fixing my sewer line block. It was a complete waste of time. I called them to get an estimate for my sewer line block. The person on the phone told me a tech would come, use camera scanning and give you an estimate. I had already done camera scanning before. I know some companies charge for it and some don't. Took workers a month to do a two-story four bedroom two bathroom house they repaired. The walls did not paint them and we are currently missing items after they price gauge us a few times.

The company is a total scam! Be aware! Avoid! I called Tuesday morning and someone came within about 1 hour. A friendly guy named Carlos. Carlos requested to go to my basement as he was diagnosing my drain. He came up and said there's gas leaking and asked me to check it out.
