Fuel and maintenance of boat Stopped here in December on way south. Got fuel and diver to check my running gear. Very helpful people and got myself set to keep going. A nice short walk to town nice and close to cape fear River and snows cut north bound good way to bypass rounding frying pan shoals.

Ferry to Fort Fisher - great outing The ferry from Southport to Fort Fisher does not leave from the Southport Marina but I couldn't find any other place to put this review. The ferry is operated by the NC Dept of Transportation and it leaves every 45 minutes from 1650 Ferry Road, Southport. The ride costs just $5 for you, your car and everyone who fits inside....

Scenic waterfront A nice place to sit while enjoying the scenery. Very quaint village atmosphere. No wonder movie companies come here.

Well would have to say southern hospitality is here If you like southern hospitality you definitely will have it here If you like to watch boats come in and out in small numbers small to medium size boat also you will have it here Take a ferry ride from Southport back over to Fort Fisher you can see Curry beach and Carolina beach spend the day take the ferry...

Such a nice trip We hadn't used the NC ferry system in years but decided to take the one from Southport to Fort Fisher. We timed it just great.............last one on the ferry. We paid the lady in the toll booth and drove right on. The people are friendly and the weather was so nice. The twenty minute ride was relaxing and scenic. Give...
