What I liked about Newman in Cedar Hill is environment and atmosphere of school. The academics are good with college preportaory. I don't think there is anything that needs changing right now.
I like the freedom you feel when you travel through classes since every class has separate buildings, and I like the extreme diversity of the school and its students. However, the school needs to be a bit more organized with the handling of everything in my opinion.
I graduated a couple of years ago and hey what can I say... I actually liked the school. It gave me a better experience than a public school and there were a lot of great memories that I made there. Some of the teachers weren't the kindest but they just toughened us up for the real world. People talk about the school alot... but there's more pros then there are cons.
It is a beautiful campus,you have to walk outdoors to all your classes and its education system really does give you an insight of what you are going to do for your life.
This school is the best school I've been in so far. It has its ups and downs but I feel like I belong. The campus is beautiful and very big. If there's a problem they immediately fix it, showing their care for students. The staff is friendly greeting you as soon as you walk in the door.
I enjoy the teachers here this year. I also enjoy hanging out with my friends.I also like the subjects that they teach here. Their food is delicious and their campus is very beautiful .
I have been enrolled into Newman since my 8th grade year and now my final year as a senior. Newman is something that is very unique to me and the rest of our district. It is a very distinct school and I have never seen any other school that compares to ours. The is most certainly a culture around Newman. Some people joke about it, but it is most definitely real. My favorite part about Newman is that we have no bullies at our school and everyone is kind towards each other. If people do have an issue with someone they typically talk to them or handle it with a one-on-one in basketball. The one thing I do wish would change about my school is for the school day to end earlier.
There are pros and cons about NICH. There needs to be a better school environment in which students are engaged and interested in their academics. Also provide consistency within the campus as it relates to academics, athletics and discipline.
