At this point Dr Denney is a member of our family and he always takes so much care with our 2 dogs, and us, the pet parents! One of our girls, a 13 year old bichon frisé, had a mast cell growth that needed to be surgically removed, and we trusted Dr Denney to do what he does best - make sure she’s ok! I took my french bulldog in who was exibiting signs of dehydration and gastritis, the vet was most concerned with me understanding that the dog had acute hemmorahagic gastrits syndrome then coming up with any comprehensive care for the dog. A woman came in with an estimate to keep the dog for 3 days for an astronomical amount of money and when I informed them that I would have to take the dog home, I was given a dirty look and when I tried to engage in trying to find another option she turned her back to me and left the room... read more

I have been using the Fairfax service for 12+ years. Today is the last day I am using it. The office manager Tayler overwrote the vet's care. She thought she knew more than our vet's decision on how to care for our little puppy. She said that the vet doesn't know their policy (after she had been with the office for many years) and the vet doesn't know the puppy needs to see a vet instead of technican for 2 weeks follow up vaccines. I visited Pender Veterinary Center in late February 2023. I was concerned with a dog bite my dog had received and a persistent cough and gagging behavior. They cleaned his wound and provided antibiotics and pain medication. They indicated the cough and gagging was benign. Now my dog is on his second day fighting for his life with pneumonia. Brushed off at Pender.
Dr. Hyatt and Kayla were great helping my puppy take out a drain from a recent injury. They got it out quickly and helped me understand the next steps for her recovery. River loves going to Pender and today was no different.
Pender is always amazing with my two dogs. You can really tell the staff care about animals and want the best for them.
