Care was good in general, but they are expensive and staff wasn't very clear on phone and in person about prices. Our dogs saw one doctors a few months ago, then went back for vaccines recently and saw another doctor. It seems you have to pay an $85 exam fee every time you see a new doctor, which was very surprising to me. And the physical exam took all of 3 minutes. I assumed they would work as a team.

Not happy with the way they handled my dog while trying to give him a shot. They had me hold him by the head even though I told them over 5 times he was going to bite, and sure enough he bit me and fractured my hand. I can’t believe such a “reputable” place would set an owner up to get bit instead of trying to find a safe way for all parties. To add insult to injury; they NEVER informed me how INSANELY expensive a routine eat cleaning would cost. Over $800 for an ear cleaning, allergy shot and blood work. They did absolutely... read more

Do not bring your pets here unless you’re ok with being taken advantage of financially. The only internet this place has is charging you the highest premium for the most basic of services. Would absolutely never go back. You can find better quality care for a fraction of the price elsewhere

irst time that I've had a complaint. I took my 15 year dog for an annual check up - had her 3 shots and then because of her weight drop, I agreed to do blood work. I was told that we would get a call yesterday afternoon with results, etc. We were not called. I called about 5:30p and was told the Dr was on a lunch break and would return my call last night. Nothing. I also realized that he never checked in my dog ears during the exam. We also were told by Costco that Pender has not called back with the okay to refill pr... read more

My pet has a reoccurring ear yeast infection. It is frustrating that I have to pay over 100 dollars each time I visit for that purpose in order for them to “evaluate and test” and tell me what I walked in telling them. It’s a waste of my time and money. There should be a way to have the prescription available for refill as needed.

Until now I have only taken my pets to Pender for emergency care because it's not very close to me. But I am switching to Pender for primary care moving forward. The vets ALWAYS take the time to listen and then explain their thinking, they are kind, reasonable, and the costs are totally fair. I tried Banfield recently and the vet wouldn't even speak to me directly, much less let me into the room with my little girl. I am glad to see so many 5 star reviews as it confirms my impression that this is a stellar practice

I took my dog to their emergency vet a few weeks ago because she woke up one morning pooping about a cup of straight blood and was not acting like herself at all. They requested I bring her in to the ER and provide a stool sample, which I did, and asked for our dog to stay with them for "observation." They told me they would follow up with me every hour or so on the progress and that they may need to take blood, do xrays, ect. all of which I told them to do what is necessary. I was very hesitant to leave my dog there since s... read more

what a horrible horrible place!!!! this place is a nightmare and they hurt my pet!!! they performed a surgery on my pet that had a tumor. not only did they NOT remove her tumor but they broke her tail, and now refuses to see her! I reported them to the license board, I filed a dispute of the almost 1,000.00 that I paid them to do NOTHING and if they response I will take them to court and keep them in court! this place is a complete rip off and they do NOT care about animals!

The worse experience I ever had, and not recommend Pender Vet to anyone. My kitten needed de-wormed medication, and she was sneezing. They charged me $168.24 and said her sneezing is regular. Now she also has a nose runny and eyes runny, and I need to find another wet for her. They also charged me $43.75 for cleaning her ears and wrongly trim her one side's whisker. I am so unhappy with everything about them, pricing rate, and services.
