Verified Renter I’ve been a resident here for a couple of years now, and I feel that the quality has fallen down a bit since the new manager took over. Since then, I’ve had several packages stolen from the reception area(the people dropping the packages off don’t put them in the lockers), the many of the facilities have been breaking down or don’t work properly(elevators, washing machines, etc), and maintenance requests seem to be ignored. Verified Renter The apartment is very well located near the University of Chicago with convenient prices. However, the customer service is terrible. After causing me damage the first week of rent, by starting works in the unit AFTER I had moved in (with toxic fumes from the painted radiators, and no usable shower, despite the unit being empty for 2 months), no compensation was offered. Verified Renter As a new arrival at Plaisance, I must say Vicky (lady in the leasing office on-site) is extremely helpful and warm-spirited. From the first time visiting she made this place feel like a home/community, you feel welcome to. I've only been here for a month so far but I have yet to feel unsafe or as if the building isn't secure. Verified Renter Generally disapointed and dissatisfied. Unless this is the cheapest you could find and you are on a tight budget, avoid it. Otherwise, scrutinize and inspect everything before signing anything.
Outdated Dog Policy I was shocked to see that this building has a pet policy that excludes all Doberman (including mixed breeds). Doberman do not have a reputation as vicious or dangerous dogs. Statistically, Rotts, Cane Corsos, Chows and German Shepherds are all far more dangerous than the mild natured Dobbie. Yet, none of these powerful breeds are excluded as a matter of course. Shame on your management for such an ignorant and lazy dog policy.
