I love the Polaris 9450. However, this is my second one. The cord went on the first one and after all the research I did, it seems to be a common issue. We were always very gentle with the cord, never abusing it, storing it inside over the winter, and still it became faulty. The first one lasted 5 years and apparently this is as long a life that one can expect. For the price, I think it should last longer. Cleans the pool within the 1.5 hours. I love the lift feature - no back strain removing the unit from the water. Very easy to clean.
