Easier to use than other label makers I have not updated my label maker in years, so to see all the changes in the newer models was great. I love that the maker is backlit, but I think the best thing is that you don't need batteries to use it. This is not a machine that I use often, so frequently when I would go to use I would find leaky batteries. Easy to use label maker ... This model can be plugged into a regular household current outlet or can run on batteries if you're going to be too far away from an outlet. The screen is small but readable and the keyboard is a bit cramped for touch typing but also usable. It comes with a USB connector for use with a PC (which I haven't had any opportunity to use as it wasn't necessary for the labels I was creating). love it I love a label maker and have an older one from Brother. This one if superior. I've been going crazy labeling my containers that have Christmas decorations. It has a very easy large display to read.The keyboard is wonderful and you can even hook this up to your computer though I didn't do that. There are at least 14 different fonts, 10 font styles and 600 symbols. You can use this with 4 differnt tape widths. Very helpful As boring as this sounds, I have always wanted a label maker. I am not a naturally organized person, but try to force myself to be because I like to get things done. Having a label maker has helped me a lot. I can now label leftovers in the refrigerator and put the date they were stored on the container, so my husband no longer has to be the one to try possibly weeks-old food to see if it's still good (it's usually not, and he finds this upsetting). Perfect labels every time. This label maker is a wonderful upgrade to the original p touch. My original one finally gave up and this is a perfect replacemement. It really is plug and play, but to get the most out of it, you want to install batteries (not included). Once you have batteries in this, you can take it anywhere and it will store labels you use all of the time (2015, I am looking at you!). Home Run! Having owned several label makers now, and 3 Brothers in particular, I was curious to see if this one was really any different. I LIKE the Brother label makers (obviously, since I've bought a few), but none of them has been anything remarkable. All of them pump out crisp, clear labels. The ones I have all share the same TZe tape cartridges, which I find reliable and easy to use (if pricey). But all of them also had the same mushy keys, somewhat fussy menu system, and more-or-less problematic cutters. Not this one! ... read more
Clean easy to read labels This brother connectable label maker was easy to use and required little to no instructions for me to tell my son how to use it, the characters printed were bold and easy to read, the label tape was able to adhere securely to the surfaces we stuck them too, and the wall charger made it super easy to use without worrying about the batteries required to operate it.
