Designed to waste tape by default The unit is ok to print labels but it's infuriating the default settings waste nearly 2 inches of label stock for each single label printed. To print a single short label, it uses enough tape for 3 labels! It's clearly for the benefit of the manufacturer to sell more tape and for this reason alone I would not recommend it. It's not a user centric default. If you have to use this unit, adjust the margins: Label button > Cut Option > Small Margin. This setting doesn't consistently stick though... read more

Instructions are not user friendly I was used to P-Touch PT-2730 which I used for years and was very easy to use until it failed. This D450 is not easy to use and is limited in features.

Lasted just till the two year warranty expired, and died. I bought a Brother brand name label maker after my last cheapie died because I didn't want to throw out yet another electronic device. Unfortunantly three months after the two year warranty expired it died. Called, and they didn't do anything to earn my repeat business. Going to try the simplest label maker I can next!

THUMBS DOWN ON A HARD TO USE LABEL PRINTER Very difficult to use. Instruction booklet written in "greek" and not well organized. Right out of the box, the first tape I inserted, I could not get out. No instructions about how to remove a stuck tape. The display is very hard to read, even when the backlight is on Have to waste a lot of expensive tape in trying to learn how to use it. It would be helpful if Brother had a video on-line on how to set it up and how to use all its various features.

Do not buy! Jams every use! Warning Do not buy this product! It jams literally every use and the labels are completely unusable garbage. See Pictures. But wait it gets worse! I tried reaching out to support and the "help" was have you tried using it? Is it turned on? Apparently customer support thinks the device is powered by magic, and that magic crumples the tape... not a single word support said could be considered help or support with the issue.

Very dated equipment - should be an old generation from the early 2000's Don''t hold your breath for the latest technology with this dated piece of equipment. This thing should be given away because it's a very old model, that should have been replaced by newer tech over a decade ago. They still use the old HUGE usb connector that is pre micro-USB, the screen is so dated that they should be ashamed to sell such old technology and put the Brother name on it. Again, these things let you know the tech in this dated device hasn'... read more
