Fast, easy, labels with helpful pre-made templates I've had a Brother PT1700 label maker for years. It's been put to great use and still works as good today as it did the day I received it. I'm happy to see that the P-Touch has improved greatly since I got my old PT1700. The keyboard is slightly larger, there are more dedicated keys that make it more efficient to access different fonts, symbols, frames and label types. It's almost intimidating to see so many options for things like frames for your labels (99 different styles... read more

I am impressed with the Brother PTD450 I have used label makers for filing cabinets, trays, tracking tech resources, kitchen containers and power cords (it really is best practices to label all power and ethernet cords in the back of your server rack). Many will disagree, but I think a label maker is an item everyone should have. That said, I consider the PTD450 from Brother to be a corporate model. Being able to use images, use batteries for wireless labeling-on-the-move, storage for the 50 most-common labels -- I consider ... read more

Easy to use, Looks Decent This label maker is incredibly easy to use. You can type directly into the label maker or if you are doing a larger amount of various labels, you can cut and paste or type into the program on your computer. The results are good. They are basically black print on various colored or clear tape. This isn’t anything incredibly fancy but it serves a purpose. I like being able to hook this directly to my computer so I can do address labels. This works great when I don’t need an entire sheet of Avery label... read more

Dedicated Label Maker for Lovers of Labeling/Labelling With a laptop, tablet, and/or smartphone within reach 24 hours a day, I'm never far from a keyboard. Result: I have mostly forgotten how to use a pen, and my handwriting is so illegible than I myself cannot decipher it. Enter the Brother Connectable (I personally prefer the spelling Connectible but they didn't ask me) Label Maker. Sweet form factor and at-your-fingertip functionality, so you can use it to label files in your office, create order in the kitchen, or suppor... read more

Impressive! The Brother PT-D450 label maker comes with everything you need to immediately get started – A/C adaptor, 16mm tape (black on white), and a USB cable. Note: Batteries are not included, but are also not needed for the device to work. I applaud the ‘green’ aspect of Brother for not including a physical CD. By going to the website to download 1) the software and 2) the printer drivers you always have the most current releases and don’t have to keep track of where the disk is. The navigation on the device is quite int... read more

More like a half-star below the 4 that I used here... I'd just about give my right arm to be able to use half stars in the ratings here, as this isn't quite a 4 star item for me, but then again it is better than 3 stars. What keeps it from being more solidly in the 4 star territory? The idea that it just doesn't wow me that much more than a less expensive sister product in the Brother label maker line. Back over the spring/summer of this past year I picked up a similar product, also made by Brother, from one of the large off... read more

Perfect semi-portable label maker! I've used these little label makers for years, both at home and at work - and have always had great luck with the Brother brand. At work, we've also had occasions where it made more sense to plug a label maker into a computer - so we could type them up faster from a PC. Those work fine; but, in most cases, it's nice to have a standalone model. This label maker does an excellent job of bridging that gap! For normal usage, just use the keypad and type up labels like you would with any other l... read more

The bells and whistles on this "upgraded" model are NOT worth the price. Just get a basic no-frills P-Touch This does everything a basic P-Touch does, but you're paying MORE for "PC Connectable" and upgraded label options. Uh--the whole point of having a P-Touch is PORTABILITY (label-making on the fly!)-- to avoid having to boot up your PC, download a program, and be stuck at a desk. If i'm going to be ball-and-chained to a computer, i might as well ditch the P-Touch and just print labels using Avery stickers. I predict you ... read more
