As always from the welcome at the front desk to the end of the evening with the wonderful chocolates to go home with the experience is wonderful. Excellent choices for all palates, generous drink pours. What more can you ask for.
Reconnected after a COVID break. Better than before. The experience was like the initial early days. Already booked a return reservation.
Great table by the window on a rainy night. Perfect pre theater dinner with my wife.
The food and drinks were excellent. Our server was slow and condescending, but the food & drinks were so good, we would still rate it very high.
Food is great, selection is extensive, service is perfect, musical entertainment was fabulous
Our experience was marred by a waiter dropping a plate next to us and literally spraying cocktail sauce over me and my wife. Blobs of red sauces on our clothes, in our hair, etc. It was pretty bad. And we weren’t the only targets. I’ve worked in food service and accidents happen. When such things happened we were told to immediately apologize, clean up, and fetch the manager who would again apologize while a team cleaned up the area and the guests, and offer comped drinks, deserts, whatever was appropriate given the damage. ... read more
We have been going to The Redeye Grill for quite some time now. The last couple of time we went, we were very disappointed. However, last night was excellent. The service was excellent, the food was excellent and the ambiance was excellent. We were very pleased and happy to see the restaurant restored to it's usual excellance.
Hadn’t been in years. Vibrant energy and friendly service but food didn’t match the spirit. The heralded dancing shrimp was greasy and heavy, and the miso cod was laden with mushrooms and an unnecessary broth(though recommended as ‘the best dish’ by the server. Wanted to love this neighborhood spot given how we feel about the sister restaurant Trattoria DelArte but the latter is the definitive winner.
The restaurant was very busy and hectic, probably due to private parties. Initially we were shown to a very small table. After sensing our dissatisfaction, the manager found a better table and gave us each a glass of prosecco. The food (black cod and chilean sea bass) was excellent. This restaurant is very convenient to Carnegie Hall and is a great place to dine pre-theater.
