Wasn’t as good as it’s been in the past unfortunately. I’ve been to this restaurant dozens of times and love their lobster cobb salad, but today it wasn’t great. There was a shell in the salad and the avocado wasn’t edible - it was hard as rock. We were seated at a tiny table for 2 in the middle of the floor - we could barely fit the food on the table, even though I reserved the table days in advance. The food is good and is priced for the area more so than for what you’re getting. This is fine if you know what to expect; Redeye is a reliable place with a varied menu. Servers are attentive and happily exchanged a glass of wine for my friend who didn’t like what she got.
A beautiful spot for dinner. I had the beef Bourgogne and it melted in your mouth. My wife’s dancing shrimp were a little over done and stuck to the stick. Meal arrived a little cold and tables were incredibly close together if you went as a couple. As a group of 4 or more it was fine. Service was outstanding
Skip the flying shrimp! Very messy and dried out, crab cakes were very good!
Always a wonderful welcome Richard. Allergies attended too. Hoping Carnegie or city center. This is the best in the neighborhood pianist/singer in lounge is wonderful
It was our first time dining at the Redeye Grill since their renovation, and we were impressed! Being Carnegie Hall subscribers, we have four local “go to” restaurants which we dine at pre/post theater. The Redeye was good, but now it is much better! Wonderful beef bourguignon, excellent bronzino (according to my wife), excellent service and a half a block from Carnegie Hall. What could be better? An excellent dinner with cocktails in New York City for $160.00. Simply amazing. Highly recommend.
