Excellent on all fours- food, service,ambiance,noise level and value( okay on all fives). The price fixed is a good value with large portions. Highly recommend , especially for Carnegie Hall location. The sea bass was very good and the chocolate cake delicious and enough for 2.definitely the go to place when attending Carnegie Hall
We are from the DC area and when we came to NY a couple years ago we just happened upon the Red Eye and had a fantastic experience. Now we return whenever we are back in town. The food is delicious, the live music is a treat, and the wait staff is excellent
We have always made Red Eye Grill as our destination restaurant when we visit NYC. This visit was very disappointing. The food, which is normally outstanding, was not up to their normal standards...the sea bass was dry and the black cod was very salty. The live music was good but very loud. We were looking for more ambiance, conducive to having dinner conversations. Obviously, that was difficult. As a result, I doubt we will not be returning in the near future.
Redeye Grill is a must while in midtown. Always an amazing experience from the management on down to the food. Must try the Brussel sprouts!!
To me, this was our best meal in NYC. My wife voted Tavern on the Greene first. The hanger steak was the best I have ever had and the cheesecake was very good. The service was very friendly and the live music was nice and at a nice lower volume.

Selected Redeye Grill for Christmas Eve and I am so happy I did. Had early reservation with my husband because we were going to Carnegie Hall right across the street. When we arrived we were greeted promptly by a friendly hostess. The restaurant is large and since we were early it was relaively quiet. The early evening meal was perfect until the music started. I don't remember there being entertainment before, as well as an opening to the previously quiet front area, which is now right behind the music, and a very loud place to sit once the singing starts. We were happy we had to leave early for a concert, as the music made talk impossible. Other than that, everything was lovely, and the fish and veggie offerings wonderful.
