It's three stars because if you are not careful, a lot of things are overlooked. I feel like they tell you things to make the sale, but when you're under the contract, you're pretty much screwed.
I worked with Katy, she was super helpful guiding me through the process of buying the home. She returned all of my calls, kept in the loop with all that was going on. Based on my experience I will be recommending this homebuilder to any and all friends and family that are looking to buy a home.
I have already recommended Smith Douglas to another future home buyer solely on the process of building (as I have only been in the house three weeks). I was kept well informed throughout the process including pictures of my house from Connie in the office. Connie and Jason were great to work with as well as Branson.

This is a first home purchase for me, but working with Katie through the sales process and the preferred lender made the entire process really seamless. Katie really went above and beyond with keeping us updated on the status of the build. She would take photos of the house either weekly or biweekly.
