Fabulous dinner! Melt in your mouth steak in a relaxed, unpretentious environment
Wonderful meal as always - cocktails, steak, lobster whats not to love when its all served with professional and friendly service

We discovered Smith & Wollensky in Las Vegas last year. We wanted somewhere special to take our son for his 21st birthday so we decided to visit the London restaurant. We drove 4 hours to get there and weren't disappointed. The steaks are amazing, just wish we lived nearer.!!!
For a diner with a foody friend i was looking for an upmarket restaurant near the Strand. My preference for meat was deliberate and Smith & Wollensky proofed to be a champion choice. Located one street away from the crowded Strand, the ambiance is wonderfully calm and american business like, with plenty privacy to each table. Starters of carpacio of serlion and squid rings. The squid rings were average with the batter falling off and zero room on the plate to cut them or attempt to put the batter back on.... Thus didn't get to try the dip they came with very much. A classic NY steak house. The meal was on par with any U.S. Steak house. Able to get reservation for party of 8 same day. (Not easy in London). It is pricey.
A great place to come to with high expectations. We now had our second dinner there and it was again without anything left to wish for.
