The steaks and chips were excellent! So was the service. Only downside is that the noise levels are so high when it's busy (which I assume is most of the time) so you can't easily have a conversation. But would recommend this restaurant for the food.
Great to see one of my NYC favourites come to London. I have long been a fan of their flagship location in Midtown Manhattan. Believing it to be on par with Del Frisco's, Sparks and even Peter Luger's. The new London location performed well for a restaurant in its' early days. It is searching for a gathering as the restaurant was mainly empty on a Sunday evening. Great looking space and quality food. Will be back!
Amazing restaurant, well up to the standard of the New York venue. We went for our son's 21st and he was treated to a complimentary cocktail at the gorgeous bar when we arrived. Cocktails were delicious and slightly out of the ordinary. The seafood platter was legendary and then the 3 of us shared a 42oz Porterhouse steak cooked to perfection with just the right amount of side orders. There was an excellent wine list with great advice given by the knowledgable staff. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

S&W's is one of our favourite restaurants in New York City. We were looking forward to seeing if S&Ws London lived up to it. It did. Kind of. The rooms are amazing. No expense has been spared. They have the same steak knives. We had a Porterhouse for 2 creamed spinach and has browns. Oh and onions. I think the meat would have been better had it not sat under the light in the pass for so long - we were an hour waiting for our food to arrive. We hadn't ordered appetizers. Having eaten at Smith and Wollenski`s restaurants in Manhattan and Las Vegas, I was keen to see what their first overseas venture was like. A wonderful location in a great Art Deco building reminiscent of New York, the internal décor was also impressive, not a direct copy of their other restaurants but better in many ways. The staff were great and the food excellent. It`s a big dining room that needs lots of people to give the right ambience and I think the buzz of a full restaurant would make a big difference to the experie... read more
Although known as a steak house (and decidedly living up to this), Smith & Wolensky also serves a mean fish dish. I had the rib-eye, which was cooked to perfection (how do they do this?), my wife had the fish special which was monk fish and was delicious (I tried it).
The house salad was unique and delicious. The steak and the salmon entrees were perfectly prepared. Our service person was top notch.
An extensive wine list but very expensive and the food is not cheap either. The service and food is very good and the décor is excellent.
