First let me say - I am a crazy, overprotective animal mom to my 2 italian greyhounds, Daisy and Zoe. They get the best food (Daisy even gets a little too much which is the present issue we are working on!), supplements, sleep on my bed, etc. All in all, they're spoiled and I'm a sucker. And anyone who is familiar with toy breeds such as IGGYS knows that they have bad teeth, no matter how often you brush. Me being overprotective, I was pretty hesitant to take them in for a cleaning because of the anesthesia. After much res... read more

I have been a client of South Kendall for 20+ years. Dr Pane and his entire staff are genuinly caring and very knowledgeable. The hospital is clean and has the latest technology. Their prices are reasonable and they are far from money hungry (as mentioned by a prior reviewer). Dr Pane helped a friend of mine that found a stray kitten in need by heavily discounting his fees. And when I had to put my 17 year old cat to sleep, they waved me out the door and told me they would bill me later. They are very compassionate and trea... read more

These are super, caring people. While waiting to adopt our three new kittens, we saw much more than dogs & cats in the waiting room. Monkeys, ferrets, birds, turtles, guinea pigs... you name it. Most vets stick to cats & dogs. These guys are talented enough to do it all, with a delightful staff backing them up. Worth the drive!

I have been taking my animals here since I was a teenager, over 20 years ago. Their service is excellent, I so appreciate they have a state-of-the-art lab on site Dr. Payne created so they don't need to send items out and "wait" before making a correct diagnosis or start treatment. They also take genuine heart-felt interest in the care of their patients. We've seen many Doctors' for various reasons over the years with dogs, reptiles and parrots. I believe their prices are just a slight bit on the higher side, but fair for e... read more

This Animal Hospital is one of very few AAHA certified- in short- they have to meet very high standards and they do! I came to them with a cat that was diagnosed (incorrectly) with a deadly disease by the Coral Reef Animal Hospital. I didn't believe the diagnosis and the Coral Reef vet felt I was in denial! After searching for a AAHA Clinic, at the recommendation of my former vet in NY, I found South Kendall Animal Clinic. Dr Weir confirmed suspicions, my cat was fine! The Coral Reef Vet refused to believe that he was... read more

I have been a client of Dr. Pane (now retired) for over 30 years and never had an issue. I will never return to this office after my last visit. I was offered a written teeth cleaning quote for $400 that ended up $4,000.00 as my dog laid under anesthesia. I accepted the original $400 quote with total assurance of its accuracy but once the doctor began the cleaning, the quote became invalid. My dog left the clinic, as I reluctantly paid half, with 1/2 his dental work completed. I was charged for additional fees never agreed ... read more

I regret making an appointment at this vet. My dog died a little after on the same day after visiting South Kendall Animal Hospital. I think everything that transpired during the vet visit was the cause of accelerating my dogs death. I've been going there for years for my dog and my other pets and I will never come back to this vet again. I took her in for a check up and to get her nails cut. The vet diagnosed her and told me she had a heart murmur and then proceeded to draw blood. First attempt was on her front leg which wa... read more

Treat cats worse than dogs. I noticed the care with other patients vs. how they treated my mom and me with the cat. Very disappointing. This should be discouraging even as a dog owner because there could also be discrimination due to breeds.
