Get directions3 words I MISS MATT! Matt is the only stylist I haven't fired AND I make sure to see him when I visit. He probably has a year long waiting list - so sorry for the tease! The salon is quite nice, comfortable, and has a great energy.
This is the best salon EVER! I've been going here for the last ten years and I love it. I'm from Idaho but have lived in LA and San Francisco for three years and still have not found anything comparable. I normally go to Odell but I have also seen Matt. They are simply amazing.
This place is a disaster. They charge such exorbitant prices for mediocre to substandard service. I went there for a haircut, halfway through the stylist told me she actually didn't feel comfortable doing men's hair (so why accept the booking??), then they had to call in a senior barber immediately to try salvage the situation. And they kept me waiting 3 hours total. Do yourself a favor, there are plenty of salons, go somewhere else.
I was dreaming of the perfect hairstyle as I finally gave in, stopped coloring and let my gray shine through. The best (healthiest for hair) way to do it was to cut it short and grow it back in. The first stylist I went to at Graeber was a new stylist and, after the third try, I had to ask for someone with more experience. I asked for some layers but instead ended up with some weird bi-level and each attempt to correct it just made it worse. Then I found Thomas. He cut it perfectly and, over the course of nearly a year, help... read more
Total lack of transparency around bait and switch pricing. Despite being quoted a specific price and charged a deposit when booking, my stylist informed me when I arrived that the cost of the services I booked would be roughly 50% more than I was quoted. This is due to color and toner apparently not being included in the price of a highlight, which seems odd. I spoke with the manager and went through the booking process with her so she could see what I was shown. She pointed out a tiny icon that, if I had clicked on it would... read more
I went to Graeber in August an Kaitlin cut my hair. We probably looked at 10 photos of what I wanted in the consultation before she cut my hair. She layered the hell out of it and it will probably take 6 months for it to grow out. Btw, the pictures hardly had any layers. I have called Graeber 4 times and still haven't heard back. 3 times for Kaitlin and once for an owner or manager, I haven't heard back from them. When I asked to speak to an owner or manager and I explained the situation I was told an owner or manager would ... read more
I'm leaving this review because my elderly mother doesn't have a yelp account. My mom, Sharon Michel, got a cut and color in August. She has shoulder length grey hair and wanted some blonde highlights and a simple cut. She left looking basically exactly the same as when she came in, but paid 250 including tips for this look. A few days later, she called into the salon to have it redone to her liking. Not only did they not offer to fix it, they never called her back and it's now September. She lives on social security and a f... read more
I can always count on an Aveda Hair Salon when I am out of town and my hair needs coloring. This is the first time I have ever been seriously disappointed and felt like I flushed $300 dollars down the toilet. I was confident that a level 4 stylist would not disappoint. I was wrong. Aveda just lost my confidence. I do not recommend this Salon. It has all the appearance of the quality you'd expect, but did not deliver!!
Update: I can now move on with my life as I took a trip to my hometown and had my hair dresser fix my hair. She was shocked by the haircut that had grown out. There are parts in the front of my face that she couldn't fix and told me had to just grow out due to how badly they were cut. There were shelf's cut into my hair in the front on both sides she had to try equalling out. The back was uneven apparently. There were parts she said had no rhythm or reason to be cut the way they were. I am just so relieved I finally had my h... read more
