Get directionsTotal lack of transparency around bait and switch pricing. Despite being quoted a specific price and charged a deposit when booking, my stylist informed me when I arrived that the cost of the services I booked would be roughly 50% more than I was quoted. This is due to color and toner apparently not being included in the price of a highlight, which seems odd. I spoke with the manager and went through the booking process with her so she could see what I was shown. She pointed out a tiny icon that, if I had clicked on it would... read more
Business response:
Hi Katie, thank you again for your feedback. We display our transparent pricing policy in mulitple areas when you schedule appointments online. Unfortunately there is no way to predict the amount of color that will be used until we physically see your hair and go over your desired result during your consult. When you booked there were also two different places that stated that an addtional color cost will be charged based on the exact amount that would be used during your customized service, its also listed on our FAQ page. ... read more
I went to Graeber in August an Kaitlin cut my hair. We probably looked at 10 photos of what I wanted in the consultation before she cut my hair. She layered the hell out of it and it will probably take 6 months for it to grow out. Btw, the pictures hardly had any layers. I have called Graeber 4 times and still haven't heard back. 3 times for Kaitlin and once for an owner or manager, I haven't heard back from them. When I asked to speak to an owner or manager and I explained the situation I was told an owner or manager would ... read more
I'm leaving this review because my elderly mother doesn't have a yelp account. My mom, Sharon Michel, got a cut and color in August. She has shoulder length grey hair and wanted some blonde highlights and a simple cut. She left looking basically exactly the same as when she came in, but paid 250 including tips for this look. A few days later, she called into the salon to have it redone to her liking. Not only did they not offer to fix it, they never called her back and it's now September. She lives on social security and a f... read more

Hi Claire, I am truly sorry that this was your moms experience- this is devastating information for us. We would never want this outcome and would have tried to correct it and make it right for your mom. We understand the investment an appointment can be and take pride in our work and training, and would never want this to be someone else’s experience. Your feedback is valuable and vital for us to improve. Please reach out to our GM Sydney directly, her email is sydney@graeberandcompany.com. We would greatly appreciate the... read more
I can always count on an Aveda Hair Salon when I am out of town and my hair needs coloring. This is the first time I have ever been seriously disappointed and felt like I flushed $300 dollars down the toilet. I was confident that a level 4 stylist would not disappoint. I was wrong. Aveda just lost my confidence. I do not recommend this Salon. It has all the appearance of the quality you'd expect, but did not deliver!!
Business response:
Hi Teresa, this is definitely not our norm. Did you let management know while you were in town? We are happy to make it right when we know where we fell short. I’m looking for your first name, last initial and don’t see anything around this date to reach out directly. Please contact our GM at Sydney@graeberandcompany.com - we would appreciate more details so we can offer feedback and training for our team. They would want that if this is how you left your service. Feedback is super important in our industry. Thank you.
Update: I can now move on with my life as I took a trip to my hometown and had my hair dresser fix my hair. She was shocked by the haircut that had grown out. There are parts in the front of my face that she couldn't fix and told me had to just grow out due to how badly they were cut. There were shelf's cut into my hair in the front on both sides she had to try equalling out. The back was uneven apparently. There were parts she said had no rhythm or reason to be cut the way they were. I am just so relieved I finally had my h... read more

Hi Rose, I am truly sorry for your experience, this is devastating information for us. We would never want this outcome and would have tried to correct the error or some how make it right for you. We would be able to do more training if we knew about your appointment so no one ever had this same experience. I know you don’t want to be contacted and removed the direct message option, I’ve also looked up every rose we have in our system and only one woman who is a regular has been in our salon under that name for several years... read more
Went about a year ago. They have tiered stylists and colorists. So the more years they have in, the more they charge. However, years experience don't necessarily mean they are better at what they do. I returned for a color correction because the young kid (male) who gave me a partial weave did a terrible job. They gave me what the Senior stylist:colorist literally called "money pieces" which are nothing more than the front face frame pieces very blonde and chunky. Which leads to bad grow out, not to mention way out of sty... read more

Hi, Thank you so much for the great review, we strive to create an experience you will love! Have a wonderful day, see you at your next appointment.
I have been going to Graeber & Co for quite some time now for a specific stylist, Rachel. She cut my hair to perfection every time with out fail and delivered exactly what I showed and explained. Upon arriving for my appointment I had made a month prior and confirmed 2 separate times 2 days before, I was notified at the desk Rachel was no longer cutting hair at this salon. As you could assume, I was shocked and disappointed. A phone call, email, or text to her long time customers would have been much appreciated to be notifi... read more

We can address much of your feedback through training and coaching our team. When we know where we fell short we can do much better to ensure this doesn’t happen again. Please reach out directly to Sydney@graeberandcompany.com As far as Rachel leaving, due to some personal reason she did have to make that decision within a 24 hour period and we wanted to accommodate ... read more
It is really hard to get an appointment at my regular place so I thought I'd try Graeber while visiting Boise. Shampoo, cut and style took a half hour. I thought that I'm paying for a cut more than an experience, hair looked better leaving than going in, so I should be happy, maybe she is just fast. After I washed my hair I was able to tell she just did a slight trim, I think. Or did I imagine her using scissors? I still needed a haircut. Visiting this salon was a waste of $70. I'm giving two stars because she didn't ruin m... read more

Hi Lynn, It sounds like you may have been booked with one of our senior staff, who yes, are a lot quicker than new artists and have a higher price point. Our pricing is on a level system and our team is paid for their level experience, technical skill, education and retention. They aren’t paid on the time, otherwise that would be twice the amount for you, the guest! We’re happy that your “hair looked better leaving than going in.” This is great that we got that part right so no, you didn’t “imagine the scissors.” As a bu... read more
I waited over a year from the last bad hair cut so I'd have a lot to work with. The stylist did exactly what I didn't want done. I wanted it thinned out and layered, (nope), I mentioned I didn't use heat or chemicals and.....they used a crap ton of chemicals and blew dried my hair for 20 +minutes. Overall, I didn't get a cut I need or that works for me. They gave me a style I can't use in my daily life. Lesson learned, even 'experts' ~don't listen~ to their customers wants/needs. For them, it was strictly a vanity cut.
Business response:
Hi Cindy, I’m sorry we didn’t get this right. Have you reached out to our management team to schedule your adjustment? Would you have preferred to leave with wet hair? Usually with all tailored haircuts we need to see the finished style in case we need to refine the cut before you leave. As far as “chemicals” during your haircut we don’t have any of those. All of our shampoos, conditioners and styling products are natural, 100% vegan and cruelty free. Don’t worry, no chemicals were used. Did you see one of our level 5-7 styl... read more
