Unfortunately I can genuinely say that I did not have a good experience at Taurus Academy. Most of the workers there are nice and friendly. The communication via text is great, very quick replies when it's benefiting them ( booking daycare, services, etc) however if you want to receive feedback on your dog, don't expect a quick response, if at all. Not sure how this place has 4 stars with their deceptive practices. 1. They gave my puppy the WORST first cut. It is uneven, choppy and obviously done with clippers. The stylist got everything wrong and looks like she was still in training by the looks of my dog. 2. They lied and said I was getting half back. Despite the high ratings for Taurus Academy, our experience was significantly disappointing, marked by two concerning incidents. Initially, our attempt to secure a Christmas boarding reservation was mishandled, causing unnecessary stress. More alarmingly, shortly after our dog received a nail trimming during a subsequent stay, we received a call that our dog had a severely twisted and bleeding nail requiring an immediate emergency veterinary visit and its eventual surgical removal. Taurus, a place where canine comfort goes to wither away... My poor pup was confined for far too long, and the management's attitude left much to be desired. The facilities, alas, were in a state of disarray - the dog baths, in particular, were in dire need of a good scrubbing! All in all, I fear I shall have to take my furry friend's business (and affection) elsewhere. A pity, really, for Taurus had such promise...

After filling out the forms, making several calls and hearing the same "we will call you tomorrow," every single time, I gave up. If you want to find a facility that treats its customers well, look elsewhere.

Great place except for the employee named Arwin or arwind (whatever she has dark hair and is NOT friendly) who is rude and MEAN TO THE DOGS! She was rude multiple times to me and started to get mean with my dog when she wouldn't sit (within my view). My dog is a 9 year old service dog who doesn't listen when people get frustrated (and is fully trained, will not sit on slippery floor since she is an old lady, not working on anything, I informed her before she got my dog from the back and her leash clearly states service dog a... read more

Very poor management. Well intentioned staff, but horribly managed intake and outtake and inconsistent treatment of clients. We encountered a surprising dearth of expertise from a company touting its dog handling credentials.

This place requires Canine Influenza inoculation, a shot no boarding faculty has every required and that our vet doesn't recommend. This is a very rare illness that is mostly reported in dog tracks. My vet said the only reason they would require it is if they had an outbreak. There has only been one case in Travis county, ever. Sorry, I'm not going to expose my dog to the risk of unnecessary vaccination because this place wants to limit potential legal liability.
After boarding our dog here for three nights, I went to go pick him up to bring him home. Only after asking the gal at the front desk how he did for the weekend she let me know he had given himself a pretty big gash from "flipping up his dog bowl" and asked assumingely if he did this at home as well. After I told her no, he definitely did not, and she suggested he needed medication to be boarded. We have boarded our dog at other places such as The Pet Ranch and he has never had this issue and he always comes safe and happy. ... read more
