Overall, a disappointing experience. From the moment I walked in to the moment I left. The host was unfamiliar with Open Table (I had to show him my name & reservation); the restaurant was cool (needed to keep my coat on to stay comfortable); after multiple attempts, the server was unfamiliar with a simple martini order... she was"new" (the bartender had to come over to confirm what I wanted); each of the entrees had some undesired ingredient in them to warrant not trying them; the main course was tepid (had to send back to ... read more
I enjoyed the Berry Mule mocktail, and absolutely loved the Shitake Mushroom Bolognese!
We have been to Ted's many times, and were really surprised about the experience this time. Normally the food and service is great, we were very pleased with the service, but the food was really off yesterday. The deviled eggs were very dry and tasteless. It was if someone halved the mayo and forgot the spices. The Biscuits and Gravy (as we as the eggs), which are normally wonderful were cold and had very little sausage gravy. The noise was very high. The food was cold. One diner asked for no onions and got onions. Doubt we will return. There are lots of better places.
This is the 3rd visit to Ted’s Bulletin at One- Loudoun and this I think is my last. Each time we have visited the food turn out to be very poorly prepared. But after yesterday’s experience I think it would be best if I made my experience known to others who may be thinking of trying out this restaurant. Of course the location and interior design is very appealing and nice for special occasion guests. Ted’s has seriously declined since it first opened. Unfortunately, my recent visit was disappointing from start to finish. Hostess: When we arrived, the hostess didn’t even bother to look up from her screen to greet us. Throughout the interaction, she never made eye contact and her tone was a mix of disgruntled annoyance, as if we were inconveniencing her by walking in. Despite making reservations 90 minutes before, when we arrived there was no table and the host said “it’s just getting cleaned up.” After 20 minutes of waiting a different host informed us a table still was not ready and they didn’t know how long it would take. Offered us an outdoor table (which when we made a reservation, were allegedly fully booked) but it was too hot and uncomfortable. We have been to other Teds and enjoyed our experiences. This location felt generic and bland. We both commented that we felt like we were eating in a hotel lobby. Not great for a date.
Food was mediocre at best. Lobster soup was cold. Chicken and waffles was terrible. Calamari Wasn’t much better. My wife did enjoy the lobster salad And service was good. Only reason I am putting stars on this review.
